find your voice, make a noise...

katie herzig's "waking sleep". listen. go now. you won't regret it.

i really thought i posted just last weekend. but apparently it has been two weeks.

i have finally made the inaugural bike ride on the streets of Bucheon. i have come to two conclusions: 1. biking is faster than driving the back roads 2. cyclists and pedestrians really DON'T have the right-of-way in korea.

marriage proposal count as of friday: 3.

only-on-the-subway #1: last (read: incredibly crowded) train of the night. holding onto the bar for balance, i felt an increasing uncomfort as the man shoved next to me was leaning on my arm. i moved my arm and he FELL OVER. which means i was the only thing holding him up. wow. i realized he had fallen asleep because he it happened again. on another man. and again. on the subway door. pretty sure he was drunk.

i have been going to new philly church in seoul - they have a friday night worship which has been awesome. after a draining week, it feels so good to be filled. and some of our students come also - even though it's an english-speaking church and they can't understand a lot of the message - and i have been truly humbled by them. these students are great leaders already and have been reminding me to 'not look down on them because they are young'. pray for our students. we have both extremes - students who know their calling and are an example for others and then those that bring neck pillows to school. seriously.

one of our favorite places ----> "healthy" (they don't use artificial sugar) ice cream place that puts two scoops of ice cream on a warm waffle and drizzles syrupy fruit over. yeah. happy birthday to my mouth. plus the *adorable* graffiti on the walls. yeah.

i keep getting distratcted from this post and i meant to get some work done today - i'll try to write more sooner than later.

by the way, any tips on teaching reading comprehension to esl students?
